A Metric Century and Cider

2024 Marks Heather’s first year logging as many mile on two wheels, outside, as she has on her NordicTrack bike. While she loves “riding” in the far flung places she’s electronically transported to via her IFit screen, Hawaii, Cappadocia, the streets of Berlin, it’s hard to beat the feeling of freedom to rolling along quite roads in Indiana’s endless flatness.

When the year began Heather set a goal of completing a 50 mile ride, and decided that the Apple Cider Century in Three Oaks, Michigan would be the perfect event to do it at. The Apple Cider Century, run annually since 1974, is the perfect combination of small town charm, beautiful scenic routes through lower Michigan’s gentle rolling hills, all that glory fall has to offer.

Never one to settle for just meeting her goals Heather decided that as long as she was at a “century” ride, she may as well knock our a century…..or at least a metric one. It was 64 miles of beautiful country, amazing volunteers, and just a touch of drafting in the high winds coming off the lake.

A perfect way to celebrate all of her hard work…..and her birthday too.
